You Can Make Your “New You Resolutions” Come True

Enjoy this classic demonstration video by Stephen Covey on the illusion of time and attention.

You Can Make Your “New You Resolutions” Come True

The first time I saw Stephen Covey do this demo it looked like magic. Turns out it is true.
Adding our big rocks (dreams and values) first brings magic into our life. The gazillion distractions and time sucks that can steal minutes, hours, days and months from our lives get in the way of our dearest dreams and resolutions.

My favorite Oprah quote is this: “If you concentrate on what you have, you will always end up having more. If you focus on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” –2012 Lifeclass.

Variations on her theme: If you concentrate on what you can do, you will always find something constructive and sometimes even extraordinary to do. If you focus on what you can’t do you will never do much.

If you concentrate on what you can give, you will always have more to share. If you focus on what you can’t give you will always feel in some way poor.

BRIGHTERSTEP is a mobile web app that can make your “New You Resolutions” Come True. If you are ready to take that step, say “yes” to what works, and “no” to what doesn’t resonate, then you are in a good space and at the right place.

You Can Say “Bye-Bye” to Procrastination

Martha Beck’s twenty life changing questions include this one: What potential memories am I bartering, and is the profit worth the price? She explains: “Every time you choose social acceptance over your heart’s desires, or financial gain over ethics, or your comfort zone over the adventure you were born to experience, you’re making a similar deal. Don’t.”

We need a mental “safety net” to remind us that we are prone to falling off the trapeze of our dreams and goals. I created a safety net in the form of a few special books about herbal healing and nutrition. Placed in a visible corner of my kitchen these books reminded me that there is a way back from imbalance and cued me to find the right resources and take the steps necessary. It worked beautifully. Making necessary changes was far easier with this “safety net”. Vision boards and posted affirmations are excellent safety nets and prompts for making good decisions. BRIGHTERSTEP┬áis a “safety net” that cues your decisions and brings your “New You Resolutions” within reach.
